In a move that brings her closer to home, former Wisconsin women's basketball forward Alie Bisballe has officially transferred to Michigan State, announcing her commitment on May 5 via Instagram.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore, who hails from Lake City, Michigan, will now suit up for the Spartans—a program that initially extended her a scholarship offer back in the summer of 2023 before she ultimately chose the Badgers. After entering the transfer portal last month, the Spartans came calling once more, and this time, Bisballe accepted.
Bisballe spent two seasons in Madison, appearing in 36 games and averaging 1.3 points per contest. In her most recent campaign, she posted averages of 1.0 point and 0.8 rebounds per game. While her stat line may not jump off the page, her length and versatility as a forward make her an intriguing addition to a Michigan State roster looking to build depth in the frontcourt.
For Bisballe, the transfer also means a much shorter trip home—just about two hours from East Lansing to Lake City—compared to the nearly five-hour drive back to Wisconsin. It's a fresh start in familiar territory, and one that could unlock more playing time as she settles into a new system under head coach Robyn Fralick.
