Former Washington wide receiver Pierre Garcon is making a bold prediction: he believes star wideout Stefon Diggs will be wearing a Commanders jersey in 2026.
Garcon, who played for Washington from 2012 to 2016, shared his thoughts on 106.7 The Fan's "Grant & Danny" show Wednesday. The veteran receiver sees a perfect match between Diggs and the Commanders.
"He brings a lot of energy on the field," Garcon said. "He has the leadership. He wants to be here, and that is one of the great things about it; he's hungry. It's a perfect fit."
Despite Diggs' reputation for occasionally burning bridges with teams, Garcon believes the four-time Pro Bowler still has plenty left in the tank. Diggs proved that in 2025 with the New England Patriots, hauling in 85 catches and playing a key role in their run to the Super Bowl.
"He's a major reason the Patriots went to the Super Bowl," Garcon noted. "It would be a good idea for both sides."
Garcon even took to Twitter on Tuesday to voice his confidence, writing: "This would be really good for both sides. I believe it will happen."
When pressed about whether he had inside information, Garcon was quick to clarify: "No, I don't have any insights. I don't know him personally." But as a former NFL receiver who knows the game, he spoke with conviction.
The connection makes geographic sense, too. Diggs was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and played college ball at the University of Maryland. Returning home to finish his career would be a natural fit—both for a receiver looking for stability and a Commanders team in need of a proven playmaker.
