Mayra Bueno Silva’s skid continued after losing a decision to Michelle Montague this past Saturday at UFC Vegas 116 and she wasn’t happy with some of the criticism she’s received.

Now 0-5 with one no-contest (a submission win over Holly Holm that was overturned after Silva tested positive for a banned substance) in her past six octagon appearances, Silva has had it with online negativity and went off on a series of videos posted on her Instagram stories.

“I was here reading the comments,” Silva said in Portuguese. “I don’t usually do that, but today I took some time to check what people were saying on posts about my fight, about me as a fighter. It’s crazy to see that relevant people don’t comment. They might even think something, but they don’t say it. Now this bunch of idiots hiding behind keyboards talking trash about other people’s lives, about someone who left home early to chase dreams, to try to build a better life for herself and her family, that’s all there is. Just a bunch of idiots talking nonsense about things they don’t even know or understand. Go find something to do, you bunch of losers.”

“I keep seeing all these people asking for me to be fired, saying I should get cut,” she continued. “And let me tell you something, if I do get fired, you know what’s going to happen? If I end up an Uber driver, I’ll be the best Uber driver in Brazil. You know why? Because I have determination. What do you have? Laziness. The courage to talk trash from behind a screen. That’s why I’ve made it in life. That’s why I got to fight for the belt. And if I ever have to go back to where I came from, I’ll go back with my head held high and I’ll succeed again. Because I’m a strong, brave woman, not like you, hiding behind a screen attacking others. And I check your profiles… Seriously, what is that?”

Silva’s slump started with a golden opportunity when she fought Raquel Pennington for a vacant bantamweight title at UFC 297 in January 2024. She lost a decision to Pennington, then lost four more times, including a one-off flyweight bout against Jasmine Jasudavicius. Her UFC record now stands at 5-7-1 (1 NC).

Outside of the octagon, Silva is celebrating the good moments, with her longtime partner and ex-UFC fighter Gloria de Paula expecting their first child. Silva also fired back at homophobic comments towards her family.

“And since I’m pissed off, let me say one more thing,” Silva said. “if you don’t respect my family—because I had to block comments so you’d stop talking sh*t—if you don’t like me, if you don’t respect me, if you have prejudice, then get out. Leave. I’m not asking you to be here.”
