In a move that's already turning heads in college basketball circles, former UCF signee Donovan Williams Jr. has officially flipped his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs, according to Dawgs247.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard originally inked with the Knights back in November after committing to them in October. He chose UCF over offers from Arizona State, Illinois, and USF, but ultimately decided that Athens was the better destination for his freshman campaign. Williams brings serious potential to a Georgia backcourt that's in need of fresh talent following the departure of star guard Jeremiah Wilkinson.
Williams' high school journey is as impressive as his game. He split his first two seasons between Edgewater High and The First Academy in Florida, then spent his final two years at the renowned Oak Hill Academy in Virginia—a program known for producing elite-level talent. On the Nike EYBL circuit, he put up eye-popping numbers: 17.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, showcasing the versatility that makes him such a coveted prospect.
Ranked as the No. 25 guard and No. 220 overall player in the class of 2026 by 247Sports, Williams is also listed as the No. 30 player out of Florida. He's now the third player to commit to Georgia from the 2026 class, joining NBA Academy Africa center David Ugonna and three-star center Hakeem Weems.
Georgia's roster is undergoing a major reshuffle this offseason, and Williams steps into a prime opportunity to make an immediate impact. The Bulldogs currently hold the nation's No. 63 recruiting class and the No. 46 incoming transfer class—signs that head coach Mike White is building something special in Athens.
For Georgia basketball fans, this flip could be the start of something big. Keep an eye on Williams as he looks to carve out his role in the Bulldogs' backcourt next season.
