The buzz around the Real Madrid bench is getting louder, and one name is dominating the conversation: Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician is currently topping the shortlist of candidates, with some reports even hinting that a deal might already be in the works.
Now, a familiar face from the Bernabéu’s past has weighed in. Former Real Madrid star Wesley Sneijder believes Mourinho is the perfect man to steer the ship, especially with big personalities like Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé in the squad.
"I was with him for just a year, but the experience I gained from that man was incredible," Sneijder said in an interview, as reported by MARCA. "He used to talk about how to manage a team, and that's his main quality."
The Dutch midfielder highlighted Mourinho's knack for handling more than just the starting XI. "He knows exactly how to manage all the players. It's easy to manage the first 11—every coach in the world can do that. But it's not just about those 11 players. There are more footballers on the bench or even not in the squad. Squads are getting bigger. Before, we might have had 23 players. Now it's up to 30, and you need to manage all of them too."
In Sneijder's eyes, Mourinho is the clear choice for Real Madrid's current situation. "Real Madrid are one of the teams that needs a great coach, but also a manager capable of controlling incredible players with very strong personalities. I think he's the ideal person for that role right now, and they need to sign him. If they do, it will be a very good decision."
Sneijder didn't hold back on the recent fan criticism aimed at Mbappé, either. "Some people probably don't even know what they're signing. But in the end, he was also really important for the team. He scored a lot of goals, and that's what matters."
With the season heating up and the pressure mounting, could the Special One be making a blockbuster return to the Spanish capital? For fans and pundits alike, it's a storyline worth watching—and one that could reshape Real Madrid's fortunes on and off the pitch.
