Former Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder has taken a sharp jab at Barcelona following their recent La Liga title celebrations, igniting fresh sparks in one of football's most storied rivalries.

The Blaugrana's open-top bus parade drew massive crowds across Barcelona after Hansi Flick guided the team to yet another domestic championship. The scenes of jubilation quickly swept across social media, with players and fans alike savoring the sweet taste of reclaiming Spanish supremacy.

But not everyone was swept up in the festive mood. Sneijder, who spent years in the thick of El Clásico battles during his stint with Real Madrid, questioned whether Barcelona's celebrations were a bit over the top.

"This is a club that hasn't won the Champions League in over 10 years, that fails in Europe and is humiliated every other season, and then celebrates league titles as if they'd conquered football all over again," Sneijder remarked, pointing to what he sees as a significant drop in standards at Camp Nou compared to the club's golden era.

The Dutch midfielder didn't stop there. He also addressed the growing buzz around teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who has drawn comparisons to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo from some enthusiastic Barcelona supporters. Sneijder was quick to pump the brakes on that talk.

"Barcelona fans comparing an 18-year-old to Cristiano Ronaldo over league titles tells you everything about how low standards have fallen at that club," he said, defending Ronaldo's legacy with the kind of passion you'd expect from a former teammate.

"Cristiano Ronaldo dominated England, Spain, Italy and Europe for almost 20 years," Sneijder added, emphasizing the monumental gap between a promising youngster and a player who has redefined greatness across multiple leagues and competitions.

As the dust settles on Barcelona's title win, Sneijder's comments serve as a reminder that in the world of elite football, domestic glory is just one chapter in a much larger story—one that continues to be written on the European stage.
