The NFC West just got a little more familiar—and a little more intense. Former Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. is heading back to the division, signing a one-year, $5 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks. It's a move that brings the 31-year-old pass rusher full circle to where some of his best football was played.
Fowler, who helped the Rams reach Super Bowl LIII in 2018, now enters his 11th NFL season with his sixth different team. Known for his explosive first step and relentless motor, he's never spent more than two consecutive seasons with one club. But that hasn't stopped him from making an impact wherever he goes.
Drafted third overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015, Fowler was traded to the Rams midseason in 2018 in exchange for third- and fifth-round picks. That year, he recorded 1.5 sacks in three playoff games, helping fuel L.A.'s run to the Super Bowl. His finest individual season came in 2019, when he notched a career-high 11.5 sacks with the Rams.
Since then, Fowler has bounced around the league—spending time with the Atlanta Falcons (2020), two separate stints with the Dallas Cowboys, and a stop with the Washington Commanders. In 2025, he tallied 3 sacks for the Cowboys, showing flashes of the disruptive ability that made him a top-three pick.
In Seattle, Fowler will look to fill the void left by Boye Mafe, who signed a lucrative $20 million-per-season deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Seahawks still boast a deep outside linebacker room, with DeMarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu, and rising star Derick Hall expected to lead the charge. But as any NFL fan knows, depth can change in a hurry—and Fowler adds veteran savvy and a proven track record of chasing quarterbacks.
Whether he's suiting up in navy blue or not, one thing's for sure: when the Rams and Seahawks clash in 2026, Fowler will be bringing plenty of motivation—and a few familiar faces to chase.
