In a move that adds international depth to their frontcourt, the Arizona Wildcats have secured a commitment from former Nebraska forward Ugnius Jarusevicius, as reported by On3's Pete Nakos. The 6'10" Lithuanian big man, who entered the NCAA Transfer Portal last month, brings a blend of size and skill that could prove valuable in Tucson.

Jarusevicius's lone season in Lincoln was unfortunately marred by injury. After battling a back issue during the preseason, he managed just one appearance in a Nebraska uniform—a December contest against New Hampshire where he still managed to impress with 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 blocks in only 11 minutes of action. The Huskers ultimately shut him down for the remainder of the season in February, leaving fans wondering what might have been.

Prior to his time in Nebraska, Jarusevicius turned heads during his junior campaign at Central Michigan, where he led the Mid-American Conference in field goal percentage at an impressive 53.7%. He averaged 16.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while also knocking down 31% of his three-point attempts, showcasing the versatility that made him a coveted transfer target. Before that, he spent time at Cal State Bakersfield, steadily developing his game at each stop.

For Arizona, this signing represents a low-risk, high-reward addition. If Jarusevicius can stay healthy and recapture the form that made him a MAC standout, the Wildcats could be adding a legitimate scoring threat in the paint who can also stretch the floor. For a player who has already shown he can produce at a high level when given the opportunity, this fresh start in the desert could be exactly what he needs to write the next chapter of his collegiate career.
