Another former Spartan is heading to the Lone Star State via the transfer portal

The college football transfer portal continues to reshape rosters, and a familiar name for Michigan State fans is on the move. Former Spartan linebacker Darius Snow, a fan favorite during his time in East Lansing, has committed to continue his career with the Texas Longhorns in the SEC.

Snow's decision comes after a reported visit to Austin this week. He brings a wealth of experience to a Texas program looking to build on its recent College Football Playoff appearance. Having been granted a rare seventh year of eligibility by the NCAA, Snow will have one final season to compete at the highest level in 2026.

During his six seasons with the Spartans, Snow was a consistent presence on defense, appearing in 47 games. He amassed 161 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and an interception, showcasing the hard-nosed, physical style that made him a standout in the Big Ten.

Snow becomes the second former Spartan to head to Texas this offseason, joining tight end Michael Masunas. Both players entered the transfer portal in January, seeking new opportunities. For Snow, the move to a national championship contender like Texas offers a chance to contribute to a defensive unit with championship aspirations, proving that impactful careers can find exciting new chapters in new conferences.
