After one season at his new school, former Michigan State guard Gehrig Normand is back in the transfer portal. Antonio Curro of NY2LA Entertainment posted about the portal entry by Normand on Monday, which was the final day before it closed.
Normand spent this past season with Santa Clara, who reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 30 years. However, Normand never once suited up with Santa Clara due to a preseason injury that held him out for the entire season.
Prior to transferring to Santa Clara, Normand played two seasons at Michigan State. He redshirted his freshman year with an injury, and then appeared in 13 games in 2024-25, where he averaged 0.6 points across two minutes per game.
Normand will now look to get his career back on track at his third school in three years. He was a four-star prospect out of high school but has dealt with injuries throughout his career at both Michigan State and Santa Clara. Hopefully, he can stay healthy and finally start to shine with his new school next season.
