Henry Bolte, the former Midland RockHound who has been tearing it up this season, officially made his Major League debut on Tuesday—and he wasted no time making an impact. Called up by the Athletics, the team's No. 5 prospect took center stage in Wednesday's 6-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at Sutter Health Park.

Bolte went 2-for-2 at the plate, drawing a walk while collecting his first career hit and RBI. But the highlight of the night came in the sixth inning, when he laid out for a diving catch to rob Nolan Gorman of a hit—a play that had the crowd on its feet. It was a breakout performance that showcased the speed and athleticism that have made him a rising star.

The debut also put Bolte in the record books. He became the eighth-youngest Athletic ever to start in center field, and the second-youngest in the last 60 years—trailing only Carlos Gonzalez, who debuted in 2008. That's elite company for a player who's just getting started.

That performance earned him a promotion to the Athletics' Triple-A affiliate, the Las Vegas Aviators, where he hit .300 with an .838 OPS, 10 extra-base hits, and 13 stolen bases in just 34 games.

This spring, Bolte carried that hot bat into camp, slashing .348/.400/.630 across 18 contests. After a slow start to the regular season (2-for-13), he flipped a switch in April, launching seven home runs to remind everyone why he's one of the most exciting prospects in the game.
