The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Jack Pyburn as an undrafted free agent on Sunday. The former LSU football defensive end makes the jump to the professional level after one season in Baton Rouge.
Pyburn is the second former LSU player to end up with the Buccaneers. They drafted tight end Bauer Sharp in the sixth round with the No. 185 overall pick.
Pyburn was one of several additions out of the transfer portal for the Tigers ahead of the 2025 season. He was part of an overhaul of the defense that cemented the unit as one of the best in the SEC.
After three seasons at Florida, Pyburn chose LSU out of the portal. He made 52 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, in 12 appearances. The edge rusher also added a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and pass deflection.
In 2024 with the Gators, Pyburn made 60 tackles and an interception through 12 games. He put together two exceptional seasons and will look to roll that over into success at the professional level.
