Jan Virgili, a former La Masia standout, is making waves again—this time as a hot commodity in the European transfer market. After leaving Barcelona for RCD Mallorca in the summer of 2025, the 19-year-old left winger has blossomed into one of La Liga's most promising young talents. Now, with FC Barcelona uncertain about keeping Marcus Rashford beyond this season, they're reportedly keeping tabs on their former prodigy as a potential option to bolster the left flank.

Virgili's rise has been impressive. In his debut La Liga campaign, he has already racked up two goals and six assists in 29 appearances, showcasing the flair and creativity that first caught the eye at Barça's famed youth academy. His development under Jagoba Arrasate and now Martin Demichelis has turned heads across the continent.

According to SPORT, several top European clubs are now circling the young winger. Serie A teams vying for Champions League spots have expressed interest, though financial constraints in Italian football could complicate any deal. Meanwhile, a Premier League club has also made inquiries, adding to the growing list of suitors.

Barcelona, however, holds a unique advantage. When Virgili left for Mallorca, the Catalans sold 60% of his rights but retained a 40% sell-on clause—a savvy move that keeps them in the conversation for any future transfer. Yet, the club's plans remain fluid. Rashford's loan spell isn't a done deal, and if the Englishman stays—either permanently or on another loan—a reunion with Virgili might be off the table.

For now, the 19-year-old is under contract with Mallorca until 2030, but with interest heating up from multiple leagues, his next move could be one of the summer's most intriguing storylines. Whether it's a return to Camp Nou or a new challenge elsewhere, Jan Virgili is a name to watch.
