Once a promising NFL wide receiver, Chase Claypool is making a bid to revive his career—this time with the Green Bay Packers. The 27-year-old former Miami Dolphins pass-catcher hasn't seen game action since the 2023 season, but he's now trying out for the NFC North squad during their offseason program.

Claypool's journey began at Notre Dame, where he spent four seasons before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He burst onto the scene with the Steelers, hauling in 153 receptions for 2,044 yards and 12 touchdowns over 39 games—a strong start that hinted at a bright future. But the road took a turn in 2022 when Pittsburgh traded him to the Chicago Bears, and then again in 2023, when the Bears shipped him to Miami.

His stint with the Dolphins was brief and underwhelming. In nine games, Claypool managed just four catches for 26 yards. When his rookie contract expired at season's end, he tried to latch on with the Buffalo Bills in 2024, but an injury cut that opportunity short. Now, after two full years out of football, he's looking to write a comeback story in Green Bay.

For a player who once showed so much promise, this tryout represents more than just another chance—it's a shot at redemption.
