Former Corona Centennial star Camryn Bynup knows the road to the NFL is paved with more than just highlight reels and star rankings. Now a safety for the Indianapolis Colts after signing a $60-million contract, Bynum is returning to his roots to share the real formula for success with the next generation.

On May 23, Bynum will host a youth football camp at his alma mater, offering young athletes a rare chance to learn from someone who lived the dream. But his message goes beyond drills and plays. It's about the mindset that got him from fifth-string JV to the pros.

"It's a simple formula to make it to where you want to go," Bynum explains. "It's just hard to stay on the right track and do every single thing to the best of your ability." He knows this firsthand. Bynum didn't start on varsity until his junior year, but he turned that late start into a four-year career at Cal, a fourth-round draft pick by the Vikings, and a seamless position switch from cornerback to safety.

The secret, he says, is avoiding distractions at all costs. "Stay working towards that goal and don't let anything come in between," Bynum emphasizes. "That's been the biggest part of my journey—my faith, and trusting that God will put me exactly where I need to be, but also putting in the work myself." For teenagers tempted by parties, drinking, and drugs, Bynum's path offers a powerful alternative.

His journey began with adversity. After starting on JSerra's freshman team, Bynum transferred back to Centennial, where he found himself fifth string on the JV squad. "I was literally not playing," he recalls. But instead of giving up, he doubled down on focus and dedication—a lesson he's now eager to pass on to the next wave of aspiring athletes.
