Hundreds of kids across Indianapolis enjoyed a special pizza party on Friday, courtesy of a former Indianapolis Colts linebacker making a major impact off the field. Zaire Franklin, known for his hard-hitting play during his time with the Colts, is now tackling a different challenge: food insecurity in the community he once represented on Sundays.

Franklin joined the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis to present a check from his "Tackles for Hunger Campaign," an innovative initiative that turns on-field performance into off-field support. The program pledged $44 for every tackle Franklin made during the NFL season, a commitment that was generously matched by Coca-Cola Consolidated.

The result was a $15,000 donation, celebrated with an event at the Lilly Boys and Girls Club. More than 700 children across the city's five club locations were treated to a feast of Hot Box Pizza, Rita's Italian Ice, and Coca-Cola beverages. It's a powerful reminder that the discipline and drive required in professional sports can fuel incredible community outreach, proving that a player's legacy is built as much on heart as it is on highlights.
