The football world bids farewell to a modern midfield icon. Aaron Ramsey, the former Arsenal star and Wales captain, has announced his immediate retirement from professional football at the age of 35.

Ramsey's legacy is forever intertwined with the golden generation of Welsh football. Alongside Gareth Bale, he was the heartbeat of the team that captured the imagination of a nation during their unforgettable run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals. Earning 86 caps and scoring 21 goals, he was a leader who helped define an era for his country on the international stage.
