Big news is brewing in the world of college football recruiting, and it's one you'll want to mark on your calendar. Former Alabama commit Jatori Williams has reportedly locked in a commitment date, and the Crimson Tide are still very much in the mix.
According to 247Sports' Tom Loy, the four-star offensive lineman will announce his decision on May 22. Williams, who initially decommitted from Alabama back in December 2025, is now weighing his options among six powerhouse programs: Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, and Miami.
This is a major recruiting battle, and for good reason. Williams is currently ranked as the No. 104 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He's also the nation's No. 7 interior offensive lineman and the No. 3 player in the state of Alabama, where he suits up for Central-Phenix City High School. That kind of talent doesn't come around often, and it's clear why so many top programs are chasing him.
Williams originally pledged to Alabama back in September 2025, shortly after the Crimson Tide's big road win over Georgia. That commitment lasted through December before he reopened his recruitment. Now, with a decision date set, the Tide will have to fight hard to win him back—especially considering their 2027 class currently has seven commitments, but none from offensive linemen.
Whether you're rooting for Alabama, Auburn, or any of the other finalists, this is one to watch. And for fans of the Crimson Tide, locking in a top-tier in-state lineman like Williams would be a huge statement for their future recruiting classes.
