A skydiver, descending into Lane Stadium while trailing a large American flag, drifted off course and collided with the stadium's massive video board, leaving him suspended high above the field.

Viral footage from the scene shows the tense moments as the skydiver became entangled in the structure. The planned aerial entrance for the annual spring scrimmage suddenly became a rescue operation, with fans watching in concern from the stands below.

Emergency crews sprang into action, and after an anxious 15 to 20 minutes, they successfully used an aerial ladder to bring the skydiver to safety. Virginia Tech officials later confirmed the individual was stable, stating, "We are grateful to report that the skydiver was safely secured... Our primary focus remains on their well-being."
