Following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL draft, Kenny Moore and Anthony Richardson remain members of the Indianapolis Colts.
Both players requested trades earlier this offseason. Neither has reported for voluntary offseason programs.
How active the Colts were in shopping the two players over the weekend, or whether or not there was any sort of interest, is unknown. But a deal was not made.
Although it was reported during the NFL combine in late February that Richardson and the Colts were exploring the possibility of a trade, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported after the fact that a trade hadn't taken place because Richardson's market was "soft."
When speaking with reporters at the NFL league meetings a few weeks ago, Ballard didn't rule out the idea of Richardson remaining with the team. The Colts want to ensure they are getting a fair return for him.
"He's down in Jacksonville training," Ballard said in his pre-draft press conference. "I have talked to his trainer, and I talk to him often, and his agent. He's in good spirits. Nothing has transpired at this point. I don't know any question you're going to ask other than will he be here? Well, he could be. We'll see, but as of right now, he's down there training in Jacksonville. We'll kind of work through that as we go."
With Moore, he felt that it was time for a change. When the news first broke that the Colts and Moore would explore a trade, ESPN's Stephen Holder reported that the desire was "partly a scheme fit issue."
"I had a talk with Kenny," Ballard said before the draft, "think very highly of Kenny, not only me personally, but organizationally, and I know the city feels the same way. Look, at the end of the day, talking to him, he just felt like it was time for a change. Nothing much more than that and because of our respect level for Kenny, we said okay."
As of now, there isn't a timeline or hard deadline for a deal to get done with either of these players. But if trade partners can be found, the Colts will now be getting 2027 draft picks in return.
