Phil Foden has reached an incredible milestone in his Premier League career, hitting 100 goal involvements for Manchester City. The Academy graduate has scored 68 goals and provided 32 assists in the English top flight, with a 33rd assist coming shortly after this landmark was announced.
What makes this achievement even more impressive is the speed at which he’s reached it. Foden has done so in just 223 matches, a little over eight years after making his Premier League debut. That puts him in elite company, becoming only the sixth City player to contribute directly to 100 Premier League goals, joining the likes of Sergio Agüero, Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, David Silva, and Raheem Sterling.
But this milestone is just one chapter in an already storied career. At just 25 years old, the Stockport-born midfielder has already won six Premier League titles, a tally bettered by only five players in English football history. With plenty of time left in his career, Foden has every chance to add to that collection.
His journey to this point has been a steady climb. Foden made his Premier League debut in December 2017 as a late substitute in a convincing win over Tottenham Hotspur. He made four more appearances that season, picking up his first assist and his first winners' medal as City became the first team to reach 100 points in a single campaign.
The following season saw him get more playing time, appearing 13 times and scoring his first Premier League goal during another title-winning campaign. From there, his contributions grew steadily: five goals and two assists in 2019/20, nine goals and five assists in 2020/21 as City reclaimed the crown, and consistent returns of 14 and 16 goal involvements in the next two seasons.
His standout season came in 2023/24, when he was named Premier League Player of the Season after scoring 19 goals and adding eight assists. Even during a more challenging 2024/25 campaign, he still managed nine goal contributions before today's milestone, bringing his season total to 16.
Congratulations to Phil Foden on this remarkable achievement. It's a testament to his talent, consistency, and dedication to the City cause.
