Florida State is making moves early in the 2028 recruiting cycle, and they've just set their sights on a dynamic in-state pass rusher. The Seminoles have officially extended a scholarship offer to Christopher Sanon, a blue-chip edge rusher from Orlando, Florida.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound sophomore has been turning heads with his explosive play at Evans High School. Last season, Sanon was a nightmare for opposing offenses, racking up 42 tackles, an eye-popping 28 tackles for loss, 22 sacks, 13 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, and a fumble recovery. Those numbers put him on the radar as one of the most disruptive defenders in his class.
Currently ranked as the No. 236 recruit nationally and the No. 23 edge in the country per the 247Sports composite rankings, Sanon is also the No. 33 prospect overall in the talent-rich state of Florida. His recruitment has been heating up fast, with Pittsburgh, Kansas, South Florida, and Coastal Carolina all offering him this month alone.
Sanon shared his excitement on social media, posting: "#AGTG✝️ Very Excited And Blessed To Say I Have Received A Division One Offer From Florida State University 🍢🍢." He visited FSU's campus back in April, marking his first trip to Tallahassee, and now that he has an offer in hand, the Seminoles will look to bring him back for another visit to build on that connection.
For Florida State, this offer is part of a broader strategy to lock down elite in-state talent early. After losing a commitment from three-star wide receiver Lamar Garrison in February, the coaching staff is wasting no time reloading. With his blend of size, speed, and production, Sanon looks like a future star who could anchor the Seminoles' defensive line for years to come.
