GAINESVILLE — Florida cornerback Devin Moore didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called on Day 3 of the NFL draft, going early in the fourth round to the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 114 overall pick.

If not for injuries, Moore likely would have come off the board sooner. Instead, he became the 14th cornerback selected — a Day 3 value play for a franchise that needs help in the secondary after allowing more passing yards and touchdowns than any team in 2025.

At 6-foot-3 ¼ and 198 pounds, Moore offers rare length for the position, along with sure tackling ability. His 4.5-second 40-yard dash at the combine didn’t fully reflect his speed, as he was still working back from groin surgery.

When healthy, Moore has shown the ability to run and match up with bigger receivers, but he must improve his ball skills, particularly when playing with his back to the quarterback in man coverage.

If that develops, the Cowboys may have landed one of the draft’s more intriguing picks.

Durability remains the primary concern. Moore played just 19 of a possible 38 games from 2022-24. But in 2025 he started 11 games while recording 35 tackles with six pass breakups.

He was a bright spot in a Florida pass defense that struggled, allowing a 63.8% completion rate and 8 yards per attempt in SEC play, 14th of 16 teams in each category.
