Cast your vote for one of seven nominees for this week's Florida Power & Light PNJ Girls Athlete of the Week until 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Pensacola high school sports season is winding down after nearly nine months of non-stop action, and what a ride it's been. Last week, Pace boys weightlifting stole the spotlight, sweeping the Olympic and traditional 3A state titles for the third consecutive year, with seven local lifters claiming individual championships. On the track, Gulf Breeze's Addison Dahlem, Pensacola's Khylen Eccles, and Pine Forest's Anthony Gee all brought home state titles at the FHSAA championships.

Softball is still going strong, with six area teams alive in the state playoffs. Pace (6A), Navarre (6A), Gulf Breeze (5A), and West Florida (3A) are set for regional semifinals on Tuesday, while Northview hosts Jay in the Rural Region 1 semifinals the same night. Gulf Breeze boys volleyball is also making noise, heading to the Final Four for the second straight year—they'll face Belen Jesuit in the 2A state semifinals Friday at 6 p.m. CT in Winter Haven.

Some seasons have come to a close, though. Pace baseball's run ended in a dramatic Region 1-6A finals doubleheader loss to Buchholz that wrapped up around 1:40 a.m. CT Saturday. Booker T. Washington flag football's historic season also ended, falling to powerhouse Choctawhatchee in the Region 1-2A semifinals.

But the action isn't over yet—there's still time to vote for the Florida Power & Light PNJ Athlete of the Week. Last week, Pace baseball's Dax Brooks took the boys award with an impressive 82.18% of the vote, while Northview softball's Mikayla McAnally dominated the girls category with 95.90%. That marks the second straight week a Northview softball player has won.

Voting closes at 11 a.m. Saturday, and winners are announced each Monday. Each weekly winner scores a PNJ Athlete of the Week shirt from BSN SPORTS—perfect for showing off that champion spirit. Athletes can only win once per season, so make your vote count! Nominations are accepted via phone or email, but the final poll is decided by PNJ staff. Send your picks by Sunday night.
