Florida football is eyeing multiple elite wide receivers to bolster its 2027 recruiting class and Taurean Rawlins has emerged as a prime target.

Florida football is making moves to strengthen its 2027 recruiting class, and a new name has surfaced as a top target: Taurean Rawlins. The 6-foot, 170-pound wide receiver from Sandy Springs, Georgia, is turning heads with his speed and big-play potential, making him a perfect fit for the Gators' No. 6-ranked class.

A standout at Mount Vernon High School, Rawlins put up impressive numbers as a junior: 67 receptions for 1,395 yards and 17 touchdowns. That kind of production earned him a three-star rating and an offer from head coach Jon Sumrall this spring. Florida's staff is now prioritizing the speedster to add firepower to their incoming skill position group.

Rawlins isn't just a football player—he brings track speed and elite route-running to the field, making him a threat after the catch. According to On3, the Gators are hoping to shake up his official visit schedule and get him on campus, as they compete with other top programs for his commitment.

The Gators already have a strong group of pass catchers in their 2026 class and current 2027 commitments, but they're not stopping there. They're also in the mix for several blue-chip receivers nationally, including five-star Louisiana prospect Easton Royal.

Ranked No. 474 overall and No. 58 at his position by the 247Sports composite, Rawlins is also rated No. 445 overall and No. 63 by Rivals. He holds 18 offers, including six from SEC schools. Georgia currently leads with a 35.1% probability of signing him, followed by Vanderbilt (16.2%) and Arkansas (13.5%).

For Gators fans, Rawlins is a name to watch as the recruiting battle heats up. Whether he ends up in Gainesville or elsewhere, his blend of speed and skill makes him a future star on the field.
