The Florida Gators are turning up the heat on the recruiting trail, and their latest target is a dynamic playmaker who could be the future of their offense. Jon Sumrall and his staff have set their sights on four-star wide receiver Elias Pearl, a rising star in the 2027 class who is quickly becoming a top priority for the program.
Standing at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Pearl hails from Port Charlotte, Florida, and has the kind of explosive skill set that can change a game in an instant. After a breakout junior season, he posted 69 receptions for 1,052 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also adding 11 rushing scores and two kickoff returns for touchdowns. His efforts earned him First-Team All-Region honors and helped lead Port Charlotte to the Florida 4A playoffs semifinals.
Florida is no stranger to stacking blue-chip talent at wide receiver. The Gators already secured a standout 2026 class with four-star talents Davian Groce, Justin Williams, and Marquez Daniel. Now, they're looking to keep that momentum rolling by going "all-in" on Pearl, according to On3. For a program aiming to reassert itself in the SEC, adding playmakers like Pearl is essential to staying competitive at the highest level.
Pearl is ranked No. 90 overall and No. 16 among wide receivers nationally by the 247Sports composite, while Rivals slots him at No. 95 and No. 17, respectively. He holds offers from 11 other programs, including SEC rivals Ole Miss, Auburn, and Georgia. But the Gators are the clear frontrunners, with Rivals giving them a 97.9% chance of landing his commitment. Ole Miss is the only other school with better than a 1% chance, at 1.3%.
Florida isn't stopping with Pearl, either. The Gators are also pursuing five-star Louisiana standout Easton Royal, one of the nation's top prospects, and have already signed four-star receivers Anthony Jennings and Tramond Collins for the 2027 class. With a recruiting surge like this, the future of Florida's offense is looking brighter than ever.
