On April 25, Dillard High School speedster Vernell Jennings III committed to UF, and he's quickly become the crown jewel of a loaded Panthers squad. Jennings, ranked No. 61 nationally, chose the Gators over a stacked offer list of nearly 40 schools, including Florida State, Auburn, and Maryland. And here's the kicker: he's all but shut down his recruitment after using all five official visits. What sealed the deal? The new staff in Gainesville.

"Coach Sumrall and Coach Davis were two key factors," Jennings told us at a spring practice, referencing head coach Jon Sumrall and wide receivers coach Marcus Davis. "As soon as I met Sumrall, he was off the charts—dapping me up and giving me a hug. Even when I committed over the phone, he was just really excited." That energy is infectious, and it's a big reason why the Gators are trending up in the recruiting world.

But Jennings isn't the only star at Dillard. Keep an eye on rising senior wide receivers Isaiah Monestime and Josh Sylvain—both standing at 6-foot-4 and seeing their recruitments heat up.
