Florida football sits at No. 7 in Rivals team recruiting rankings after recent signings of a pair of blue-chip offensive linemen: five-star interior lineman Maxwell Hiller and four-star center Peyton Miller. Both of the 2027 prospects rank at the top of the class at their respective positions.
Slated one spot ahead of Georgia, the Gators boast eight signings who are designated four-star prospects or higher by On3 industry rankings. This marks a seven-spot jump from the previous recruiting cycle for the Orange and Blue. A surge that speaks to early traction under new head coach Jon Sumrall.
In a post-transition era before a single regular-season snap, this is seen as a healthy sign for Sumrall's pulse on the program and is the first real indication of stabilization since the departure of Billy Napier. Hiller is the cornerstone of this 2027 class and the blue-chip lineman represents a philosophical emphasis on the trenches for Florida; if the Gators are going to climb out of SEC obscurity, it'll start on the offensive and defensive fronts.
Despite a top-10 standing, the overall class still has significant upside with key targets still in play for Jon Sumrall's team. Florida has made up ground in the conference but remains just outside the elite tier. Restoring relevance was Sumrall's primary objective and these rankings are an early step toward accomplishing that; he'll still need to translate talent to sustainable results for years to come.
