Flau'jae Johnson's WNBA Draft night was a rollercoaster of emotions. Selected eighth overall by the Golden State Valkyries, the LSU star guard was immediately traded to the Seattle Storm, a move she admitted she didn't see coming.

Speaking with "Good Morning America," Johnson shared her surprise but focused on the positive. "The main thing for me was getting my name called," she said. "I have no control over who picks me, but I'm glad Seattle got me. They got a good one, and they really wanted me, so I'm excited to be there."

The draft in New York City was a family affair, made unforgettable when her younger brother, Aydin, sprinted to join her on stage. "That was everything to me," Johnson reflected. "Me and my family, we're so tight, and that little boy right there is a superstar."

Now, the 22-year-old national champion is shifting her focus to the court. Known for her electric play, Johnson is ready to bring her trademark energy to the Pacific Northwest. "I play hard both sides of the ball, and I want to win," she stated. "I'm ready to come in, I'm ready to make an impact, and most of all, I'm ready to learn."

The reality of becoming a professional truly hit when she was added to the Storm's team group chat, a key step in building chemistry with her new teammates. For a player whose game is built on passion and hustle, Seattle is gaining a dynamic guard ready to leave her mark on the league.
