Results and upcoming events in golf on the First Coast.

The First Coast golf scene is heating up with impressive performances and a packed schedule of upcoming events. From hole-in-one heroics to age-defying rounds, local golfers are making their mark on the course.

Hot Shots Around the Greens

Two golfers aced their way into the spotlight this week. At Fleming Island, Robert Parker used a 9-iron to nail a 108-yard hole-in-one on No. 8. Meanwhile, at San Jose, Rod Penfield showcased precision with a pitching wedge, sinking a 115-yard ace on the same hole number.

Mark Bomberger turned heads at San Jose with an eagle-two on the 298-yard first hole, using a driver and pitching wedge to card the rare feat.

Age-Defying Rounds

Father Time met his match at two local courses. Doug Allred shot a remarkable 72 at San Jose—five strokes better than his age of 77. Over at Blue Sky, Jim Blache (age 86) and Larry Hough (age 84) each fired 84, proving that experience and skill only get better with time.

Jacksonville Women's Association Results

In a net Stableford competition at Windy Harbor, the women's association delivered tight finishes across three flights. Flight 1 saw Shari Zeimetz take top honors with 31 points, followed by Kathleen Walker (30) and Cindy Riley (30). Flight 2 belonged to Kerry Tobin (38 points), with Helen Short and Michelle DuFresne tying at 34. In Flight 3, Vickie Prince led the pack with 35 points, ahead of Betty White (33) and Linda Boland (29).
