The First Coast golf scene is buzzing with impressive performances and a packed schedule of upcoming tournaments. Let's dive into the latest scores and events that are shaping the local golf landscape.

David Grochmal turned heads at Eagle Harbor with a stellar round of 72, a score that remarkably matches his age of 73. This "age-shooter" achievement is a testament to skill and longevity in the game.

On the competitive circuit, the Jacksonville Women's Golf Association Championship kicked off with a strong first round at the King & Bear. Therese Quinn and Tama Caldabaugh are tied for the lead in the Championship Division after both carding an 80. They are closely followed by Jennifer DiPaula (83), Shauna Snyder (85), and Lou Tenarvitz (93). The senior and super-senior divisions also saw fierce competition, with leaders including Debbie Caruso, Janelle Miller, and Shawn Anderson setting the pace in their respective flights.

Looking ahead, the calendar is full of must-see events. Collegiate golf takes center stage as the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University women's teams compete at the ASUN Women's Championship in Dothan, Alabama from April 17-19. Their male counterparts will follow suit at the ASUN Men's Championship in Valdosta, Georgia from April 21-23.

Local junior golfers have a major opportunity at the North Florida Junior Foundation Titleist Invitational at St. Johns Golf Club on April 18-19. Meanwhile, the prestigious King & Bear will host the Peach Belt Conference Men's and Women's Championship from April 19-21, promising high-level collegiate action right here on the First Coast.

The JWGA Championship will conclude with its final round at Marsh Landing on April 22, crowning this year's champion. For golfers who have recorded a special feat—like a hole-in-one, an eagle on a par-4, or matching your age—you can submit your news to help celebrate the amazing accomplishments within our community.
