The college golf postseason is officially underway, and the First Coast is well-represented with seven local programs teeing off in conference tournaments from Alabama to right here in St. Augustine. The pressure is on as teams vie for titles and a chance to extend their seasons.
The University of North Florida and Jacksonville University women's teams are traveling to Dothan, Alabama, while their men's squads will compete in Valdosta, Georgia. Meanwhile, the Flagler College men's and women's teams, along with the Edward Waters women's team, have the distinct advantage of playing for a championship on their home turf.
In the ASUN Women's Championship, a thrilling shootout is expected. Florida Gulf Coast, ranked 64th nationally, leads a strong field that includes Stetson (87th) and UNF (89th). UNF will rely on junior Kaitlyn Schroeder, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 126, while Stetson's Isaki Sakashita enters on a hot streak with two consecutive individual wins.
Over in the ASUN Men's Championship, the battle appears to be between No. 58 Florida Gulf Coast and No. 72 Stetson. Keep an eye on Gulf Coast's Nolan Harper, a local Beachside graduate and the reigning ASUN Freshman of the Year, who is the top-ranked individual. UNF and JU enter as underdogs, ranked 131st and 157th, respectively, looking to pull off an upset.
Closer to home, the Flagler College men face a monumental challenge in the loaded Peach Belt Conference. With five teams ranked in the Division II top 20, including powerhouse No. 6 Georgia Southwestern, the 32nd-ranked Saints will need a peak performance to claim their first conference title since 2019 on their home course.
As these athletes navigate demanding fairways and fast greens under intense pressure, their skill and mental fortitude will be tested. It's the perfect time to gear up with performance apparel that offers the comfort and flexibility needed for every swing and every crucial putt of the championship season.
