After six decades of bringing World Cup sticker albums to fans around the globe, Panini's legendary partnership with FIFA is coming to an end following the 2030 tournament. The iconic publisher, which first released its sticker books for the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, will no longer produce the collectibles that have become a beloved tradition for football fans of all ages.
In a major shake-up for the sports memorabilia world, FIFA has signed a new deal with Fanatics, the collectibles giant that owns Topps. Starting in 2031, Fanatics will take over production of stickers and trading cards for all FIFA tournaments and events. This move mirrors a similar shift in 2024, when Fanatics replaced Panini as the official collectibles partner for UEFA competitions.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed the new partnership as "a new, meaningful way for fans to engage with their favourite teams and with their favourite players." He also emphasized the financial upside, noting that "this provides another important commercial revenue stream that we channel back, as always, into the game, into football."
For collectors and football enthusiasts, there's still plenty of time to enjoy Panini's classic sticker albums. They'll be available for this summer's men's World Cup, next year's Women's World Cup, and the 2030 tournament. So whether you're chasing that rare shiny foil or completing your album one swap at a time, the Panini tradition lives on for a few more World Cups before a new era begins.
