When it comes to family bragging rights, Gina Minichiello is making a very strong case. The Hasbrouck Heights High School junior is a three-sport phenomenon, and her recent performance at the Bergen County group track meet has everyone talking—including her older brother, Rocco.

At the meet, Gina dominated the track, winning gold in the 400-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and the long jump. She scored a perfect 40 out of 40 points, a feat that few athletes ever achieve. For her incredible performance, she has been named the NorthJersey.com Female Athlete of the Week, presented by HSS.

"I always say I am the best athlete of the three," Gina says with a smile, referring to herself and her siblings Rocco and Mia. "My brother will argue it, but the results speak for themselves." While Rocco was a football standout at Heights, Gina is building a legacy that could surpass them all.

Veteran track coach Rob Brady, who has seen nearly five decades of talent at Hasbrouck Heights, believes Gina is something special. "I feel Gina is one of the best all-around athletes in school history," Brady says. "She already has a state group title in track, she's been all-county, and she's qualified for outdoor nationals. She will leave as one of the most accomplished athletes, male or female, the school has ever seen."

And Gina's success isn't limited to the track. She was a third-team All-Bergen County selection in soccer after scoring 22 goals and adding 11 assists last fall. On the basketball court, she earned second-team All-County honors and was the second-leading scorer in North Jersey last season. She's on pace to become the school's first-ever 2,000-point scorer.

So, what's the secret to her consistency across three demanding sports? "Every day at track practice, you're doing something different," Gina explains. "You have to recover on the easy days and push through the hard ones, like 400-hurdle workouts. There's no way around it. You just have to put in the work."

Whether she's sprinting down the track, dribbling past defenders, or heading in a corner kick, Gina Minichiello is proving that hard work and determination can make you one of the all-time greats. And as for that family debate? The trophy case is starting to speak for itself.
