Injury updates, history and more on Bengals draft pick Connor Lew.

When the Cincinnati Bengals used a fourth-round pick on Auburn center Connor Lew, they weren't just drafting a player—they were betting on a fast-tracked future. Here's everything you need to know about the Bengals' newest offensive lineman.

He's still a teenager—barely. Lew won't turn 21 until August 30, meaning he'll tackle training camp and most of the preseason before he's legally old enough to celebrate with a drink. That youth is no accident: Lew graduated from Auburn early in December 2024 and skipped his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

A position switch that changed everything. Lew started his high school career at left tackle for Kennesaw Mountain High School in Georgia. But after an 0-10 season in 2019 and a rough start to 2020, his coaches made a bold move—they shifted him to center, a position he'd never played. Lew didn't flinch. He learned the position's nuances during a family beach vacation and returned to earn all-state honors as a senior in 2022, capping a 7-3 season with a touchdown catch.

College success and an unfortunate setback. Lew entered the 2025 season as a preseason All-SEC selection, having started 25 games over three seasons for the Tigers. But his campaign was cut short in October when he tore his ACL, causing him to slide to the fourth round of the draft. The injury, however, hasn't dampened his outlook. "The knee is great," Lew said after being drafted. "No setbacks. If anything, I'm a little ahead of schedule. Thinking I will be 100 percent for camp."

What this means for the Bengals. With a projected return by training camp, Lew could be the long-term anchor Cincinnati needs at center. His early graduation, rapid position switch, and resilience suggest a player accustomed to beating timelines—and the Bengals are counting on him to do just that.
