Need some hitter help in Week 8? Fantasy baseball analyst Corbin Young has you covered.

If your fantasy baseball team has been struggling at the plate in Week 8, you're not alone—and the numbers back it up. Several surprising teams are posting below-average offensive numbers, making this the perfect time to shop the waiver wire for streaming options. According to fantasy analyst Corbin Young, targeting hitters against certain struggling pitching staffs could be your ticket to a winning week.

The usual suspects like the Pirates, Rockies, and White Sox have long been near the bottom in wRC+ (a key offensive metric). But in 2026, the list of teams with a wRC+ below 95 includes some big names: the Phillies, Padres, Reds, Red Sox, and Mets. Meanwhile, the Pirates, Mariners, Nationals, and Cardinals have surprisingly jumped into the top 10. That means it might be time to bench those struggling stars and stream in hot hitters from more productive lineups.

Week 8 offers a packed schedule, with four teams playing seven games and no teams stuck with just five. That's a golden opportunity to grab strong-side platoon bats from teams with favorable matchups. The key is identifying which pitching staffs are vulnerable—and the data points to a few clear targets.

The Astros are a prime streaming target. With Hunter Brown injured and Framber Valdez gone, Houston is relying on a rotation of Spencer Arrighetti, Peter Lambert, Lance McCullers Jr., and Mike Burrows. Their strikeout-minus-walk rate (K-BB%) has dipped into single digits, which is a green light for fantasy managers to load up on hitters facing them. The Phillies' pitching staff is another area to exploit—their high WHIP and BABIP allowed suggest balls are finding holes. Even with stars like Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola, only Wheeler has a BABIP under .342, meaning plenty of runs could be scored against Philadelphia arms.

Don't overlook the Rays, either. Their strikeout skills have faded, and while they've been lucky so far (thanks to a low BABIP and high strand rate), their expected ERA (xERA) tells a different story: they're allowing hard contact. With the Blue Jays on their schedule this week, there could be streaming value to be found.

Ready to dominate Week 8? Look for hitters facing the Astros, Phillies, or Rays, and consider adding strong-side platoon bats from teams with seven-game slates. Your fantasy roster will thank you.
