After a slew of promotions, Kade Anderson emerges as the top prospect to stash

In the ever-evolving world of fantasy baseball, last week was a game-changer for prospect watchers. Three of our "Five on the Verge" — Robby Snelling, A.J. Ewing, and Ryan Waldschmidt — all earned their call-ups to the big leagues, and they're not just filling roster spots. Each player is expected to get a serious look from their respective clubs, making them priority waiver wire pickups. If you had stashed them ahead of time, you'd already be reaping the rewards and saving some FAAB dollars in the process.

Snelling is generating the most buzz, mainly because every team can use another starting pitcher, whether they realize it or not. While walks were a minor issue in his debut — echoing some of his minor league struggles — he showcased a fuller arsenal than expected and whiffed batters at a respectable rate. Between Ewing and Waldschmidt, think floor versus ceiling. Ewing offers a higher floor as a true speed demon with a plus hit tool, while Waldschmidt brings the higher ceiling thanks to his over-the-fence power. Both are disciplined hitters with excellent on-base skills, making them valuable in any format.

With those promotions, we've cleared the deck for new stash targets. However, given the recent wave of prospect call-ups, you might need a bit more patience before the next round pays off. But trust us — the wait will be worth it.

Top Stash Target: Kade Anderson, SP, Mariners
2026 minors stats: 3-0, 0.60 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, 30 IP, 5 BB, 47 K

Kade Anderson made his debut in the Five on the Verge just last week, and now he's climbed to the top of the list, leapfrogging Noelvi Marte in the process. His latest outing was another masterpiece: one earned run on two hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings — a performance that actually raised his ERA. We compared him to Chase Burns last week, and we're sticking with that. Burns mowed down minor league hitters so effortlessly last year that he needed just 13 starts to reach the majors, with only his final two coming at Triple-A. The big question for Anderson is whether the Mariners can make room for him, especially with Bryce Miller returning from injury. But as we've seen time and again, when the only obstacle is pitcher health, life finds a way. Add Anderson now and thank us later.
