First off, I just want to say what a fantastic fansite this is—I check it out every day along with the podcasts. It’s a must-read for any true Black Cats supporter.
I’ve been thinking about the matchday experience, specifically the issue of early leavers and post-match traffic congestion. Could this be mitigated if the club spoke to Nexus about putting additional metros in place on all matchdays? Better transport links could make a huge difference for fans trying to get home. Could Roker Report perhaps broach this subject with the club to see if this could be discussed?
**Ed’s Note [Chris]:** Thanks, Nick! We really appreciate you tuning in. On the early leavers, it’s always a tough one because everyone has their own reasons—family commitments, travel plans, you name it. I doubt there’s a single solution.
Better transport links can only help, but they’re not the only answer. We need to find ways to get people away from the ground quicker, which might mean encouraging more to stay at the stadium after the final whistle. If you’ve ever been to Twickenham for rugby, you’ll know it’s a nightmare to leave, so they keep the bars open and create a great atmosphere post-game. Combining that kind of setup with improved transport could ease congestion, though some will always leave early to get on with their day.
Switching gears, did anyone else see those quotes from De Zerbi and Van de Ven saying they didn’t deserve to lose and we weren’t much better? What a pair! Our lads rarely looked under any real pressure from them, and only some sloppy finishing stopped us from bagging three or four more goals. Something to sharpen up for next season, perhaps!
All in all, this has been one of the best seasons I’ve watched in years, and there are still six games to play. The sky’s the limit for this squad! And let’s be honest, it’s pretty hysterical watching the struggles across the way too.
Keep the faith, till the end. HWTL and FTM!
