The NCAA Transfer Portal is buzzing with a notable name from Florida A&M. Shooting guard Anquan Boldin Jr. has entered the portal, marking the first departure for the Rattlers this offseason.
Boldin Jr., a 6-foot-4 junior, spent one season with FAMU under head coach Charlie Ward. He appeared in 18 games, averaging 5.8 points and 3 rebounds, and was part of the team that made a run to the SWAC Tournament semifinals. His season highlight was a 16-point performance against the Georgia Bulldogs in November.
His decision to transfer comes after initially joining the Rattlers from the University of Buffalo in the summer of 2025. The move adds another chapter to a basketball journey shadowed by a legendary football name; he is the son of former Florida State and NFL star wide receiver Anquan Boldin, a Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler.
Boldin Jr. is not the only Rattler exploring new opportunities. Junior forward Devere Palmer Jr., who averaged 7.8 points in four appearances, has also entered the transfer portal. As the offseason unfolds, these moves highlight the ever-changing landscape of college basketball, where new beginnings are just a portal entry away.
