CBS Sports' post-draft power rankings list Falcons as worst NFC South team.

The 2026 NFL Draft marked a pivotal moment for teams to bolster their rosters, and the Atlanta Falcons made strategic moves to add depth at key positions—though without a first-round pick and with limited salary cap space, their options were constrained. The Falcons managed to snag two potential Day-1 starters in Avieon Terrell and Zachariah Branch, alongside several high-upside players in the later rounds. Yet, despite these additions, CBS Sports' post-draft power rankings didn't shine favorably on Atlanta.

In Pete Prisco's latest rankings, the Falcons remained stuck at No. 24 overall, placing them at the bottom of the NFC South. This puts them behind the New Orleans Saints (No. 23), the Carolina Panthers (No. 22), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lead the division at No. 16. Prisco highlighted the team's young talent but zeroed in on the quarterback dilemma: "Will Michael Penix Jr. be back sooner rather than later? If not, is Tua Tagovailoa going to start and revitalize his career?"

The NFC South as a whole didn't fare well, with the Buccaneers dropping three spots despite being the division's top team. It's a familiar narrative for a division that often struggles to earn respect in national rankings. For Falcons fans, this serves as a reminder that while the draft added pieces, the road to contention remains steep—especially with quarterback uncertainty looming large.
