The Atlanta Falcons are adding some veteran depth to their offensive line, and it all started with a strong showing at rookie minicamp.

Offensive lineman Layden Robinson, who attended the Falcons' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, has impressed enough to earn a spot on the team's 90-man roster. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the signing is set to go through, though no corresponding roster moves have been announced yet.

Robinson brings some intriguing NFL experience to Atlanta. Originally a fourth-round pick by the New England Patriots in 2024, he started 11 games at guard during his rookie season—a solid foundation for a young lineman. However, his journey hit a snag last summer when he landed on injured reserve. After being waived during the season, the Las Vegas Raiders picked him up for their practice squad and later signed him to a future contract, before releasing him earlier this month.

Now, Robinson will look to carve out a role in a Falcons offensive line that already features established starters Chris Lindstrom and Matthew Bergeron at guard. With those two locking down the starting spots, Robinson will likely compete for a reserve role as the team works through the rest of the offseason.

For Falcons fans, this move is a low-risk, high-reward opportunity to add a player with starting experience to the depth chart. And for Robinson, it's a chance to prove he can stick in the NFL—this time in Atlanta.
