"I take all the football decisions. I designed the gym," Fabregas told Telegraph Sport, offering a glimpse into his hands-on approach. Under his guidance, Como has not only earned promotion to Serie A but also reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals and is now pushing for a Champions League spot. It's a remarkable turnaround that has caught the eye of top clubs, including his former teams Chelsea and Arsenal.

Despite the rumors, Fabregas isn't rushing back to England. "The Premier League is the best league in the world," he acknowledged. "I felt it as a player, I feel it as a coach, as a fan." But he's taking a long-term view, recalling advice from José Mourinho: "He told me, 'I still have 30 years to work.' So I could be here for 10 years, and you can still go to the Premier League in 12, 15 years."

That patience makes sense given Fabregas's unique position at Como. When he joined as a player in 2022, he also invested as a minority shareholder, and the club's billionaire owners, the Hartono family, have given him full autonomy over football operations. "Football is so unpredictable," he reflected. "One day, you are the best. The day after, you are the worst. So let's enjoy the moment. It's beautiful what we are living here."
