The Miami Grand Prix just got a whole lot more interesting. In a dramatic turn of events, Isack Hadjar has been disqualified from qualifying after a post-session inspection revealed his RB22's floor was two millimeters longer than the 2026 technical regulations allow. That tiny infraction has huge consequences: Hadjar, who originally finished eighth on the track, will now start Sunday's main event from the very back of the grid in P22.
It's been a frustrating weekend for the young Red Bull driver. While teammate Max Verstappen used the team's latest upgrades to secure P2 in qualifying, Hadjar struggled to find his rhythm. He finished the qualifying hour more than eight-tenths of a second behind Verstappen, and his post-session comments hinted at the challenges he faced.
"The car was very hard to drive, it was very fast," Hadjar said before the disqualification was announced. "In Q3 I just couldn't put it all together, and on the other side, we have no straight-line speed. It's a very tricky track with low grip and high track temperature. Nothing like what we had in the first three rounds."
He added, "Max is very good at adapting to these conditions. In the corners, I made big progress compared to yesterday, but I just couldn't tidy up like he did—and on top of that, I'm missing in every straight."
With Hadjar's disqualification, all eyes turn to the front of the pack. Kimi Antonelli will start from pole position, looking to extend his lead in the Drivers' Championship. Meanwhile, Lando Norris—who dominated the F1 Sprint Race with both pole and the win—will line up in P4, ready to challenge for the top step of the podium.
Here's the updated starting grid for the 2026 Miami Grand Prix, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable Sunday.
