Ez Abde is making a serious case for a Barcelona return—and he's doing it in style. The 24-year-old winger is currently posting career-best numbers at Real Betis, emerging as the standout performer in Manuel Pellegrini's squad.
After spending two years at Barcelona earlier in his career, followed by a loan spell at Osasuna, Abde made a permanent move to Betis. Now, he's hitting his stride at exactly the right time. With 13 goals and 13 assists in all competitions this season, he leads his team in attacking contributions—outshining even high-profile teammates like Antony and Cucho Hernandez.
That's a massive leap from last season's 14 goal involvements (nine goals and five assists), and the numbers could still climb. Betis have four La Liga games remaining against Real Sociedad, Elche, Barcelona, and Levante.
Abde's red-hot form has been a key driver for Betis, who sit fifth in the table. In fact, they're the only other La Liga side—alongside Barcelona—boasting more than one player in double figures for both goals and assists. Antony joins Abde in that elite club, while Barca's Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, and Marcus Rashford have also hit the same mark.
It's no wonder Barcelona are circling their former prospect. But they're not alone. Recent rumors suggest Liverpool are also tracking Abde, with the Premier League giants preparing for life after Mo Salah this summer.
So, what's your call? Would you welcome him back to the Camp Nou, or is a move to Anfield the better fit? Drop your thoughts below!
