MiniLuxe, the pioneering nail care brand, is making a major play in the sports world by naming NCAA basketball champion Kiki Rice as its first-ever brand ambassador. This landmark partnership, announced following Rice's title-winning run with UCLA, signals a new era of athlete-driven brand building, as the soon-to-be WNBA rookie also joins the company as an investor.

For Rice, the decision was about more than just a sponsorship. In an exclusive interview, she emphasized being "very intentional" about her partnerships, drawn to MiniLuxe not just for the product, but for the culture and environment it fosters. She drew a direct parallel to her basketball career, noting, "As someone who plays basketball and is an athlete, I think we all know how much it’s the people behind the scenes that matter... It’s a little bit similar, in that sense." Her first salon visit left her impressed, calling it "the best nail experience that I’ve ever had."

The feeling is mutual from the brand's leadership. Tony Tjan, cofounder and CEO of MiniLuxe, highlighted the powerful alignment of values. For Rice, who was also named the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player this year, taking on the dual role of ambassador and investor was a strategic move to forge a deeper, more meaningful connection with the brand's mission, moving beyond a simple "one-off" deal.
