Former New York Giants offensive lineman Jon Feliciano isn't shy about predicting a bright future for the team's newest draft pick. Speaking exclusively to Big Blue View, Feliciano believes that Francis Mauigoa—selected 10th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft—is destined for greatness, but not at the position some might expect.
"I think he'll be in the Giants Ring of Honor if he stays with the Giants his whole career," Feliciano said. "I think he's really good. If I'm a GM, he's one of the players I want to start a team with. I see him having a minimal 10-year career. That's crazy, because in 10 years he'll be 30. So he'll play as long as he wants to play, and I'm excited to watch."
Feliciano, who played nine seasons in the NFL including a stint as the Giants' starting center in 2022, now trains up-and-coming offensive linemen. He spent two months working with Mauigoa at Triple F Elite Sports Training in Tennessee during the pre-draft process. The two share a Miami Hurricanes connection, having bonded when alumni linemen were brought in to help current players a couple of years ago.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and 329 pounds, Mauigoa played right tackle at Miami but will shift to right guard for the Giants. Feliciano saw the potential early on. "I knew from seeing him up close and watching his early career film that he was gonna go places," he recalled.
Working with Mauigoa daily only confirmed Feliciano's instincts. "This dude was literally the first guy at the gym every day. He stayed the longest. When he felt like things weren't going as he wanted, like, hey, I want to do more work. I feel like I'm hanging out a little too much. But he would reach out to me, to the weight room guys, everybody. He was really dialed in."
Feliciano also praised the Giants' coaching staff for quickly announcing Mauigoa's position switch. "It's huge, man. So you don't have to worry about learning two spots at once," he said. With that clarity, Feliciano believes the 20-year-old can focus on becoming an "elite guard" in the NFL for years to come—a bright spot for a Giants team looking to build a dominant offensive line.
