Stamford Bridge is once again in flux as Chelsea search for a permanent manager to replace Liam Rosenior, whose brief stint ended after a string of disappointing results. The Blues are in desperate need of stability, and among the high-profile names on their radar is former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez.

Since the BlueCo consortium took over, Chelsea have prioritized a possession-based, high-energy playing style. Xavi, a master of the "Tiki-Taka" philosophy, fits that mold perfectly. During his time at Barcelona, he led the club to a La Liga title in 2022/23 and a Supercopa de España triumph, showcasing his ability to build a cohesive, attacking unit.

The managerial carousel at Stamford Bridge has been spinning fast. Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior both departed in quick succession during the 2025/26 campaign, leaving the club adrift of the Champions League places. With the Blues currently sitting ninth in the Premier League after a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest—their sixth consecutive league loss—the need for a long-term project leader has never been more urgent.

Xavi, who has been on a break since leaving Catalonia in 2024, is eager for a Premier League challenge. "There's no hurry for me, but I'd like a good project," he told The Athletic. "Like, 'You have four years to work and make a project.' I'd love to work in the Premier League because I love the passion there."

He's not the only candidate in contention. Fellow Spaniards Xabi Alonso, Cesc Fabregas, and Andoni Iraola are also believed to be options, alongside Marco Silva. But Chelsea can't afford to get this appointment wrong—not if they want to retain their status as one of English football's leading sides. With a trip to Anfield looming on Saturday, the pressure is on to find the right man to turn things around.
