The 2026 NFL draft begins Thursday and the Chargers have the No. 22 overall pick to kick things off on Day 1 of the three-day event.

The Chargers will welcome a new rookie class to the organization this weekend. The team has five picks in this year's draft as they hold their original selections in the first, second, third, fourth, and sixth rounds.

The Bolts enter the draft with several needs on the roster, but the general consensus is the front office will focus on bolstering the pass rush and the offensive line.

The Chargers saw the departures of outside linebacker Odafe Oweh, defensive lineman Otito Ogbonnia, offensive lineman Zion Johnson, cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer, tight end Tyler Conklin, defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand, and offensive lineman Austin Deculus. Meanwhile, the Bolts added some new faces to the roster, including fullback Alec Ingold, tight end Charlie Kolar, center Tyler Biadasz, offensive guard Cole Strange, running back Keaton Mitchell, defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson, and guard Kayode Awosika.

All of the Chargers' five picks are, of course, subject to change should any trades occur throughout the weekend. General manager Joe Hortiz's philosophy is to be conservative in free agency and build the roster primarily through the draft. This weekend is Hortiz's bread and butter, so Chargers fans should be optimistic in the final results.

The 2026 NFL Draft runs from Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25.
