The Premier League transfer rumor mill is heating up, and a new defensive target has emerged on Merseyside. Everton have joined Brighton and Sunderland in the race to sign CA Osasuna's highly-rated center-back, Enzo Boyomo, according to reports from Diario de Noticias de Navarra via Sport Witness.

The 24-year-old Cameroon international is turning heads with his composed, left-footed defending in La Liga, and his €25 million release clause has piqued serious interest from English clubs. While the report doesn't specify which sides are ready to trigger that fee, local sources suggest at least one Premier League club is prepared to make a move.

Boyomo isn't short of suitors. Ipswich Town and Italian side Como are also in the mix, with Sport Witness noting last month that Ipswich even sent a scout specifically to watch him in action. That same scout was reportedly back in the stands for Osasuna's clash against Barcelona last weekend—a clear sign of growing interest.

With Sunderland securing promotion back to the Premier League this season, the competition for Boyomo's signature is becoming increasingly crowded. Osasuna, sensing the buzz around their star defender, have already begun scouting replacements, bracing for a potential summer departure.

Any deal hinges on a club meeting the full €25 million release clause, as confirmed by AS. Transfermarkt currently values Boyomo at €20 million, and he's under contract until 2029 with agency All Iron Sports. So far this season, he has logged 2,305 minutes across 27 appearances, including a start in the Copa del Rey.

For Everton, the timing couldn't be more critical. The Toffees are set to kick off the 2026/27 season in their stunning new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, and the pressure is on to assemble a competitive squad from day one. Heading into the summer, the club faces some major question marks at center-back, making a reliable, modern defender a top priority.

On paper, Boyomo fits the bill. He reads the game intelligently, holds his own in aerial duels, and brings that highly sought-after left-footed composure to build from the back—exactly what most modern backlines crave.

But there's a catch. Boyomo has thrived in Osasuna's structured, disciplined La Liga system, where the pace is more controlled. The Premier League's relentless tempo and constant transitions would be a significant step up in intensity. That makes this a calculated gamble for Everton—especially with that non-negotiable €25 million price tag. Is he worth the investment? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the race for this talented defender is only just beginning.
