Enterprise State Community College is making history, and the excitement is building. Just weeks after announcing Janasky Fleming as the program's first-ever head coach, the Boll Weevils held their second tryout for the brand-new women's flag football team—and the energy on the field was electric.
Fleming put the athletes through a series of drills designed to test their core skills: catching passes under pressure, open-field tackling, and breaking down complex route concepts. But this wasn't just about fundamentals. The coach wanted to see who could think on their feet and execute with precision.
In a short time, the players made a strong impression. Fleming saw raw talent and determination, and five standout athletes walked away with scholarships to join this historic squad. Still, the work is far from over. Several roster spots remain open, and the competition is heating up.
"Starting a new program is always the hardest part," Fleming said. But with the backing of the Boll Weevil community and the city of Enterprise, he's confident the sky's the limit for this team. As flag football continues to grow across the country, Enterprise State is planting its flag—and these athletes are ready to make their mark.
